Press Release: Castro Valley Unified School District Appoints Charity Hastings as Director of Purchasing & Warehouse

Mrs. Hastings has worked with CVUSD since 2013. She began working as the Account Technician at Castro Valley High School and then moved to the position of Administrative Assistant to the Assistant Superintendent of Business Services. In both of these roles she supported the work of the Business Services Division within our district, consistently demonstrating competence and skill.  Her technical expertise combined with her knowledge of the District’s priorities will assist her as she continues to serve the staff and students of Castro Valley.  She is excited to transition into Purchasing and Warehousing to lead the essential work of that department.

Mrs. Hastings is a proud alum of Vannoy Elementary School, Canyon Middle School, and Castro Valley High School. She has also served as a parent leader while her children attended Castro Valley Schools. She comes to the role with a degree from Oregon State University in Human Development and Family Sciences, 10 years working in purchasing in the private sector and eight years in education in financial and administrative support roles.
